What is Narrative Text??

Definition of Narrative

A narrative text is an imaginative story to entertain people

The Purpose of Narrrative Text

a.       To tells story which can amuse the reader.

    Generic Structure of Narrative Text

      Orientation

Tells it about the opening paragraph where the characters of the story are introduced.

      Complication

            sets off where the problems in the story deverloped.

      Sequence of events

            where the characters react to the complication.

      Resolution

Where the problems in the story is soived.

      Coda

            provides a comment or moral based on the story.                              

         Language Feature

•      Simple past tense (drunk, ran, ate, went)

•      Specific character ( king, queen)

•      Descriptive words (lazy, smart, pretty)

•      Using temporal conjunction (after night, after morning, then, yesterday)

•      Verb processes (kept, ate, spoke, drank)

•      Adverbs dan Adverbial Phrase (here, in the mountain, happily ever after)

•      Adjectives (long black hair, two red apples)

EXAMPLE OF NARRATIVE TEXT

Influence of words

A group of two frogs were traveling through the woods, while walking they sang songs together. Suddenly two of them fell into a deep pit. When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was. They thought that they could not help their friends and just They told to two of their friends, “The pit is very deep. It’s difficult to climb up. You’d better die in the pit.”

The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up of out of the frogs took heed to what the other frogs were saying and gave up. He fell down and died.

The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die. He jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out the other frogs said, “Did you not hear us?” the frog explained to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time.
